Description

I post this as a pre-July 4th piece. First, I may not agree how this country is currently run (as I'm sure some of you would agree as well as some of you will disagree.) The President (who I voted for the first time, not the second) seems to have some good ideas and some really bad ones. Congress is a bunch of aging...excuse me, ancient people (in both physical age and mental aptitude) that can't seem to keep their hands out of the pockets of all Americans (this goes for both federal and state politicians). If they can't get some money out of what they are looking at to pass then they ain't gonna vote for it. With that out of the way... Second, regardless of your feelings for how the government is run, remember to support those who are out their in our Armed Forces. Not everyone thinks that what they are doing is right...here's the problem with that sort of thinking... Those people are doing their job. (it's almost the same as contracted labor.) They signed up for their branch of service and swore to do what they are told...some of them don't agree with what they are doing, but that doesn't matter. They know it's their job; and remember, these are the same people who help keep us free. They are out there to keep "out there" from coming here. These people choose to put their live on the line to keep us from having to; and one last thing to remember, if these same type of people didn't do this 229 years ago, we would be part of England (depending on how the different wars ended since then) and things might just be a little different. So remember, though you may not support the decisions of our government, do support those who are out there saving us. My prayers, hopes and well wishes go out to all those who are fighting and dieing for us, as well as their families. You are the heroes. Jeff

Well said. I agree wholeheartedly. We need to support our men and women who are out there fighting for freedom and Democracy. Consider the alternative...what if they weren't out there trying to make the world a safer place...what if no one did nothing...what if terrorism reigned supreme?

Excellent thoughts and written work. I truly believe that most all support the men and women in uniform without reservation. Regardless of their politics.

I could go on for days about the politics and how things in these "Great United States" have gone wrong...but last time I tried to post it (under Writing) I still had too many characters. Don't get me wrong, I love this land...The problem is that most people don't know or don't understand exactly what was done to aquire it and don't realize to what extent settlers went to so that they could call the land theirs.
