Description
Entry for Challenge Forum contest "Crystal Clear".
The star of Earendil the Mariner was one of the three Silmarils, magical gemstones from before the time when the seas were bent. Galadriel caught the light of the star, present amid the waters of her fountain, and contained it within a small crystal phial... to be a light when all other lights go out.
When all we have is the memory of light, we can but hope it will sustain us.
I scanned the replica phial (trying to capture something brilliantly clear!) Original space photo courtesy of NASA, ESA and A. Nota (STScl)... thanks, Hubble!
