Description

In the top image, the clouds had moved away on "Second Hill" and I started my way up. I made it to the left side of this little hill before the clouds moved in. When the clouds did move in, visibility was terrible that I had to sit and wait. But time doesn't wait for you and on this side of the mountain, it gets dark fast as the sun sets on the other side. I had to inch my way down. In the bottom image, second hill is on the far right (sky level) and it gives you an idea how high second hill is. At the center (sky level), you can see the observatory (white dot). The observatory is approx 13,700 ft above sea level. Second hill is pretty far up there. My original plans was to hike "RED HILL" but I could not find it in the dense fog. You can see Red Hill Just above what appears to be a Giant Shoe Print in the center of the bottom image. Aloha and thank you for viewing

no idea how high it is but i sure do enjoy looking at the photos! in the bottom one it looks like there's a heart-shaped crater just below the little hill! i wonder what that is?? funny how tiny the observatory looks! in the first one i really enjoy seeing how the fog is moving on the terrain! Great captures, Errol!

That is pretty high Sheila. I can imagine how wobbly you must have been. ;] Great presentation with 2 photo, giving a different perspective and broader overview of the terrain. I love your shoe print description too. ;]

One can be mistaken easily by the distances and heights of mountains, things may appear smaller than they are :) Excellent work, Errol!

13000 feet...that's more than 2 miles high. Was there enough air to breathe? Both pics and story were very interesting.
