Before you ask. Yes you can make clouds in Bryce,
with patience. It's what do you do with them that's the trick!
Hope you like the image. Thanks for looking.
Cheers all.

Excellent work. Fine use of models and great atmosphere.

Real great. One question remains though: the bombers do not seem to be firing back. Why? At this point, at least two side gunners and two ball turret gunners could be responding very nicely.

Usual thing, everybody fast asleep. Can't happen to us syndrome.

By far your best. Extremely balanced composition. Apart from the comment on the "avenging fire" though, one other thing: The BF109 had supporting spars under the tailwings, even at the latest types -F,G etc. Plus, at this turning rate, the wing tends to give off some contrail. It would add dramatically to the picture. Bravo

Great image! This certainly tells the story in one snapshot. Details & POV enhance the drama of the scene. Thanks!

I researched this tailstrut comment prior to making the image. Some of the later models of the 109 had no tail struts. This was achieved by including wooden parts into the tail structure. Over 37,000 109's were made and received dozens of modifications. Difficult to get to grips with ( for instance, high LH torque take-off problems, leading to hundreds of crashes etc). Once learned, however, it was a most formidable machine, becoming the highest scoring fighter of all time.
