Ah!! Thanks for reminding me about my Buttys dear Monica.... I got carreid away with the Butts.:P:P This image is a special dedication to Akinom aka Monica. This butty..... maybe friend Enmos or danob can throw some light on it.... is just the size of a real thumb nail and is a very active butty. It is really very hard to get it to pose. Hope you like this one. :O)) SNAKEY

Beautiful! I think it is a regional variation of what we call the Holly Blue in Britain, Celastrina argiolus. Holly because it's larvae feed mainly on Holly and Ivy but also other shrubs. I have been told that to photgraph dragonflies at rest choose a cold damp morning. You used patience for this wee chap, maybe a cold damp morning would also work here plus a ladder, because I have heard that they like to rest in trees and shrubs! georgeclarke

Beautiful! I have some tiny ones like this and I have given up trying to get a shot..they move rapidly from flower to flower.

An excellent photograph m friend! Also a great dedication for Monika and it is not even her birthday yet! Our friend AKA: georgeclarke is close but I do not believe it is not a Holy Blue. However he is very, very close. as this buterfly is of the Lycaenidae family. Excellent all the way.
