Description

Still haven't seen the spielberg film yet! realised i'd bought the martian walker by ShiroKuma ages ago, so thought i'd have a stab at a war of the worlds scene. The Martian Walker and statue of liberty were setup in Daz Studio and imported to bryce, lighting, atmosphere, and cloud modeling and final render done in bryce, total rendering time 19 and a bit hours :)

Nicely done. Love the touches that add verisimilitude, like the motion blurring. Nearly absolutely brilliant! Okay, one quibble-- the Liberty view is from her shoulder height. She probably should have had a lower viewing angle; otherwise, it means the Tripod is well over a 1000' tall.

Very nice. 4 suggestions: 1 - pull the tripod out of the smoke (to put Liberty in the background and address DavidEMartin's point). 2 - Make Liberty a little brighter so she stands out a bit more (I didn't even notice her at 1st glance). 3 - Go see the Speilberg movie (I'm not really a fan of his work but he's done a great job with this movie). 4 - ignore all these suggestions, your picture is great as it is ;)

Absolutlely top notch! I advise you not to pay attention to the 'expert advise' your are getting. Remember, an expert is just that, an ex spurt. Keep up the good work.

alomst forgot, on the scale thing, i did do a low settings render with the walker smaller and at a slightly different camera angle, its on my devianart gallery http://www.deviantart.com/view/19640308/ just looked too small, well for me anyway :)
