I am a recent graduate of The Ohio State University Masters of Landscape Architecture program and partake in in CGI for work and my own amusement. At the moment I am also in the process of creating a texture CD with a colleague which may be available for sale on this site in conjunction with my own personal site- www.landworkscgi.comBIOI currently have more biographic data, portfolio works, and free textures if anyone is interested at www.landworkscgi.com

Hmmm... Maybe a wee bit too dark?

the soil needs to be darker the moss has to go and the leaves need to be green for a start. Try using an inverted sphere with luminosity turned up full as a sky dome and use the radiosity feature, that can make anything look much more realistic. Point a spot light upwards away from the object for best results.

Bonsai soil is this color and texture, moss people like moss incorporated with their bonsai (looks like a small patch of grass), and the leaves are the color they are because the bonsai is dormant...just like real trees...go fig eh?
