Description

This isn't the best example of macro or nature photography out there, but it's so rare that you ever see a dragon/damselfly in this position I had to do what I could to get a shot or two in. ^^ Part 1 of 2. Please comment! ^^

as kimmie already said this is a VERY RARE POSE! that's an incredible attitude - could be a curious girl looking for flies at the window! super shot! deserves a vote for sure! congrats!

Oh my gosh!! I'm with Kimmie, is this bug really alive?? He seems to be sitting next to the window, just gazing out and daydreaming...nearly human!! Like a kid on a rainy day!!

He was alive initially. I think he got trapped in the window area. This is in the vestibule of my apartment, on the top floor. I got him to hold still just long enough to get a shot that didn't come out well, and the next day when I got there, he was stuck in this position and had passed away. :( But his colours were so vibrant and his wings so detailed, I was afraid to take pics of him for a while for fear he'd fly away again! When I was sure he wasn't going anywhere, I pulled up the blinds and took this and one other shot from behind. No colour correction has been done here, so that's what he really looks like. I was really surprised at the position of his arms too, and it was just.... an absolute must take. ^^ Glad you all like it, I'll post the second one tomorrow (now that there's a 1 image a day limit... used to be able to upload 5... guess that's what I get for being idle for so long! :P )

Also, feel free to look at some of the other stuff in my gallery, and as always, comment and vote as you feel so inclined. :)

Wow! Ok - so it's dead - but that's still the strangest pose I've ever seen. Seems to be looking out the window, bored out of his mind, sighing heavily. (But then, it's propably pretty boring to die in a windowsill...). Very nice!

I'm really sorry but I've been following the description and the following comments like this was some kind of mind reading game and concluded the result with howling uproarous laughther... not at the poor dragonfly's demise. But our utterly human nature! LOL Thx :B eaver !
