Description

Moving water... the worst title I ever found for an image. Well, there is a small story behind that nonsense. Today I made a journey to the small village "Gars am Kamp" in Austria. It's a very high water afflicted place. In 2002 this river bursted its banks and flooded most of the homes. This year the river "Kamp" is swollen again and the village faced narrowly a repetition of the disaster of 2002. I tried to capture the situation, the danger of the swollen river. I wanted to show the water moving, so I used a neutral dense filter to extend the exposure time. With photoshop I tried to use filters to simulate a slight feeling of infrared. Fujifilm FinePix S7000. F 5.6, 1.3s, ISO 200, FL 35mm, 3.0 neutral dense filter, UV filter, tripod. Kindest regards, Ikarius.

I think the postwork is exceptional. Even the trees convey the sense of motion and power. I hope that flooding will be avoided.

Whoa, that water looks a bit fierce! Just one small thing; I would probably have added a bit of something to the sky to simulate a graduated filter, just to balance it up a bit, apart from that it's a fantastic shot - well done :)

Water, too little is not good, but too much isn't good either! Impressive record of this sad event!

Your postwork is wonderful. The first thing I thought of, even before I read your caption, was that this water looked like it was about to become a flood! Perfect pov.
