Description

I will stop, for two posts, this long, very long serial about fashion to show you somethink totally different. As some of you know ( may I call them my fans_ lol) I work with a Maderiense art gallery named Mouraria. Each summer time they organize a colectiv exhibition on the thematic "Madeira and Porto Santo": the idea is very simple, each artwork has to show something of those two islands. I have a lot of landscapes in my archives, but, using them, it was not a very good idea. So I tried somethink completely different, hundred miles away from what I 'm used to do. Flowers in studio. Just for fun. I think that this one, named Estrelicia in Portuguese and Oiseau de Paradis in French, is, with the Orchid, the most popular Madeira 's flower, for the toursts. Now give me your opinion.

fantastic. flowers especially work well in B+W because it brings out detail which some may miss in colour, and although the plant is slightly tilted, the image does have symetrical balance, i like it!!!!

To show an orchid in black and white is quite a departure from the norm. It made me study the form rather than the color, as one usually does. Very unique!
