A detailed set of trackside railway buildings. The set consists of three platelayers huts and a fogman's hut.
A platelayer was the name given to a railway worker whose job was to inspect and maintain track. A hut would be positioned every mile or two along the line and these would be the working base of the platelayer. They were fairly crude structures, often built from old sleepers.
A fogman's hut would be positioned near signals and in times of poor visibility the fogman could place a detonator on the track to give an audible warning of danger to the engine driver.
