Jamestown Pier was built after the colony was first established, to lay in more solid and long lasting structures for handling the trade expected between home and the colonies. Includes two expansion sections (straight and angled), as well as basic trade goods, including barrels, grain sacks and raw logs. Special scene trash such as bits of leaves and wooden parts to give the impression of both recent and years past wooden construction, such as in a frontier or 17th century new world construction.
Jamestown was a settlement located on Jamestown Island in the Virginia Colony. Founded in 1607 by the explorer John Smith (of the legendary story of the Indian princess Pocahontas), it was the first permanent English settlement in what is now the United States of America, following several earlier failed attempts, including the Lost Colony of Roanoke. It was founded by the London Company (later to become the Virginia Company), in England. Jamestown was the capital of the colony until 1699.
