Lehaitre Tractor Cycle by N/A

This model of tracked motorcycle was invented in 1937-1938 by J Lehaitre from Paris, for off-road movement. Instead of wheels, it used a belt similar to a
tractor and therefore Lehaitre named his invention as tractor-cycle. According to its creator, the tractor-cycle should be more suitable than a motorcycle
for riding in mountainous terrain and should cope with steep climbs and uneven ground. However, on flat terrain, the vehicle speed is limited to 25 mph
compared to a motorcycle. Turning is provided by handlebars that control the tilt of the tracked belt. Of course, military use was also assumed, when
the tractor cycle would be armed with a machine gun and would deftly deal with enemy units even in inaccessible terrain. Several period photographs of
the prototype from the period before the Second World War have been preserved, but the further fate of the prototype is unknown.
