Mercury Starfighter is a common type of heavy fighter and bomber used for a variety of external planetary defense tasks, widely used especially for patrol flights. For the first time, it was successfully tested in the harsh and hot conditions of Mercury's defense, from where it also earned its nickname. It owes its unusual design to the complexity and size of the cooling and heat exchange system. The model is inspired by the famous painting of the British sci-fi painter Bruce Pennington's Big Sun of Mercury.
