Napoleon Bonaparte, the day after the Battle of Austerlitz, declared to the French soldiers:
“You will only return to your homes under triumphal arches."
The Emperor referred to the triumphal arches erected under the Roman Empire to commemorate
a victorious general parading at the head of his troops.
By an imperial decree dated February 18, 1806, he ordered the construction of this triumphal
arch dedicated to perpetuating the memory of the victories of the French armies.
A legend says that Napoleon dreamed that the Arc de Triomphe would be made in 3D and available
ready to use for Daz Studio users :)
