Do you envision a realistic high-speed action scene involving boats or other watercraft but the default water is crystal-smooth and boring? You know that the water churned up by the boats should have waves, bubbles, foam and spray flying everywhere. Enter the Bow Wave 3 product that contains three sets of different props of churning water as watercraft slice through it. Each model is a result of a 3D fluid simulation using real-world properties. The set uses a narrow hull like a canoe or narrowboat, cutting across the scene. For each model, the body of water has different waves so it is just a matter of choice to pick the right one for your scene. The models contain no texture or other ‘tricks’ to represent the water, just plain geometry and a lot of it. The geometry pushes DAZ Studio to its limits because each bubble, foam and spray particle is modelled using spheres with simplified geometry. Thus, the models were envisioned for medium and long shots where a boat is shown as part of a scene. If you need a scene with a larger body of water, please check out my other products. You will be able to combine those with the props in this set to create as large of a body of water as you wish. The models contain only the body of water with bubbles, foam and spray, but no boats. Since there are so many wonderful products out there, you need to bring your own. To increase its versatility to accommodate vessels of various sizes and shapes, it is possible to scale the Bow Wave 3 models along each of their axes to fit the approximate shape of the vessel you chose to insert into your scene.
I hope these new prop models will add a splash of fun to your scenes.
Happy rendering!
