Introducing the second train set for Poser! Inspired by the design of the bullet train and the Acela, this set of electric train cars will further expand your virtual railroad!
This product includes 2 train cars (engine and 1 multi-purpose passenger car), 1 section of straight railway, textures/ MAT poses for each train car, 1 texture for the railway, 6 resize poses for the train cars, 6 resize poses for the railway, and templates for all the models.
.: Models :.
Engine: contains 31,882 polygons; front and rear wheel carriages can rotate, rear door can open and close
Multi-Purpose Passenger Car: contains 16,523 polygons; includes two sets of windows, an upper observation roof, and six opening and closing doors.
Rail Section: contains 540 polygons; no moving parts. See below for more information on the rail model.
Note: The rail section is the same one that is included in the Train Set 1 product and is included as a convenience for customers who may not have purchased the Train Set 1.
.: Textures :.
Both train cars come with detailed textures, MAT poses to apply them, and templates to make your own textures.
-Passenger car includes 4 textures: Blank Gray, Blue "ComRail", Green "TRW", Red "Rio Bravo".
-Engine includes 5 textures: Red (with white stripe), Red 2 (with black stripe), Blue/ Gray/ White, Blue/ Gray gradient, and Blue top/ Black bottom.
The rails come with detailed textures and templates to make your own textures.
.: Scale Poses :.
Poses are included to resize the train models (and rails) to the most-common toy train sizes... and back to full-size. Listed in order of size, from largest to smallest:
Full-size pose: resets the size of the model to 100% scale.
"O" Scale: resizes the model to the approximate size of a "O"-scale toy train. This is the size of the "Lionel" branded toy trains.
"S" Scale: resizes the model to the approximate size of an "S"-scale toy train.
"HO" Scale: resizes the model to the approximate size of an "HO"-scale toy train.
"N-Gauge" Scale: resizes the model to the approximate size of an "N-Gauge" toy train.
"Z" Scale: resizes the model to the approximate size of an "Z"-scale toy train. This is the smallest scale toy train.
Note: These are the same poses that are included in the the Train Set 1 product and are included as a convenience for customers who may not have purchased the Train Set 1.
.: Features and Benefits :.
All models are Poser figures
These models are scaled to the Poser people. There is no need to fiddle with the scale and translate dials to resize the model.
Like all Poser figure files, these models accept pose files: both position files and MAT poses.
Each model contains easy-to-understand material names in English, such as "Exterior" and "Interior".
All models were built with 3 and 4-point polygons. There are no multi-point polygons to cause potential rendering issues.
All models use externally-referenced obj files. This saves memory resources since Poser can load the obj file without having to re-create the model`s geometry each time it`s added to the scene.
All models were built in Poser 6, but have been optimized to work perfectly fine in all versions of Poser, from 4 and up.
This train set will work perfectly with the Train Set 1 product: in fact, the connectors and wheels are exactly the same on every train car. This means you can connect the Engine or Boxcar from Train Set 1 to the Passenger Car from this set.
Resize poses allow for easy scene-building
Use the "full-size" pose to create scenes with the Poser people on or around the train.
Use the "toy train" poses to create a train layout on a table, on the floor, or even beneath a Christmas tree! Or use the "toy train" poses to create scenes of children playing with trains... or scenes of train enthusiasts working on their train layout.
.: The Rails :.
The railroad rails found in this product are accurately scaled to the US standard gauge of 4 ft, 8 1/2 inches (the width between the top of the rails). The length of the rails has been "fudged" very slightly: the exact length of standard rails is 39 feet, which translates to 2.925 Poser units... the rails in this product are rounded off to exactly 3 Poser units long. (This means that you, the user, can simply move the rail model by 3 units and it will line up with another rail model.)
The "US standard gauge" size dates back to the original railroads, and some people claim the size dates back to the time of Roman chariots!
But, no, there is no truth to the legend that the US` space shuttle`s solid rocket boosters (SRB) were designed to be the same width as railroad rails... and, in turn, the same width as the Roman chariots. Yes, the SRB`s are moved on trains, but they`re designed to fit through train *tunnels*, which are significantly wider than the rails` width of 4 ft 8 1/2 inches.
Lightwave Product Included:
This product includes 2 train cars (engine and 1 multi-purpose passenger car), 1 section of straight railway, mutiple textures for each train car, 1 texture for the railway, and templates for all the models. .: Models :. •Engine: contains 31,882 polygons; front and rear wheel carriages and rear door are on separate layers. •Multi-Purpose Passenger Car: contains 16,523 polygons; includes two window sets, upper observation dome, and doors; which are all on separate layers. •Rail Section: contains 540 polygons; no moving parts. Note that the wheel carriages will have their pivot points set since they rotate. The doors are meant to move left-right (or front-back) and do not have their pivot points set.
