Small and reliable portable illumination was very important for all the policemen walking the streets or any other environment. The most usable and also well known product designed for policemen was small kerosene lantern produced by Robert Edwin Dietz Copany. This lantern has vertical cylindrical tubus with one directional light porthole covered by thick fish-eyed lens. The second distinctive feature was typical double cone ventilation roofpart. Our lantern is loosely based on Dietz police lantern but was accommodated for proper handling by poser figures.
Carriage lantern from XVIII/XIX century was made basically for illuminating the space around horse carriage or coach, for that it was hanged to front parts of carriage hull. It was equipped by kerosene burner which fit inside. Carriage lanterns was also very popular as personal portable illumination source and carried mostly on the top of walking staff.
