Lurdusaurus (name meaning 'weighty lizard') is a genus of large ornithopod dinosaur which lived in the Aptian stage of the Early Cretaceous (121 to 112 million years ago). Its fossils have been found in Niger. The type species is Lurdusaurus arenatus, also known informally as "Gravisaurus tenerensis". Length 9 m ( 30 ft), weight 6 tons. Lurdusaurus was a slow-moving animal, not built for speed and therefore probably not capable of fast retreats from predators like Suchomimus.
