Rhizodus is an extinct group of Carboniferous predatory lobe-finned fishes. It lived in tropical rivers and freshwater lakes and was the dominant predator. The largest known species, Rhizodus hibberti from Europe and North America, was an estimated 7 meters (23 feet) in length, making it the largest freshwater fish known.
