Masiakasaurus is a genus of small theropod dinosaurs from the Late Cretaceous (70 m.y.a.) of Madagascar.Masiakasaurus knopfleri, was named after the musician Mark Knopfler, whose music inspired the expedition crew.
Masiakasaurus had a specialized diet, perhaps including fish and other small prey. Estimated adult body length was around 2 meters (about 6–7 feet).
