For my wife and I, December holidays are about light, warmth, and love. It's a warm cup of tea on a snowy night, curled in front of a window, watching the snowflakes lazily dance and drift. It's lighting a candle for those we've lost and holding their love in our hearts. It's gathering with family and eating good food and exchanging gifts and then curling up in front of the fireplace. It's about helping those who need it, and keeping people warm and fed, and letting them know they are loved and valued (not just now, but all year). It's kisses under the mistletoe and dancing in the kitchen to holiday music while we bake.
It's lighting a candle through the longest nights of the year, since all the darkness in the world, cannot dim the light of one small candle.
