Arist of the Month is Mel3D. We congratulate Mel3D for being voted AOM for January. Mel3D is a long-time Renderosity artist having joined in 2003. He has over 200 following his work. This isn't surprising considering he has a talent for 2D painting. Mel3D is also skilled in creating haunting and poetic landscapes usually using Bryce.

Happy 25th anniversary to Blender!. Blender was released publicly online as SGI freeware on Jan. 1, 1998. Since then the open-source application has grown to be a player in the 3D application scene.
