• Gallery of the week is the Lightwave gallery. NewTek's Lightwave is one of our oldest 3D applications. Renderosity members enjoy using this powerful program and the Lightwave gallery is full of interesting 3D scenes. Check it ou!

• Arist of the Month is Mel3D. We congratulate Mel3D for being voted AOM for January. Mel3D is a long-time Renderosity artist having joined in 2003. He has over 200 following his work. This isn't surprising considering he has a talent for 2D painting. Mel3D is also skilled in creating haunting and poetic landscapes usually using Bryce.

• Vendor of the Month is lilflame. Lilflame is a top vendor at Renderosity.com having won the VOM several times. She produces marvellously detailed work and her store is constantly being updated with new work. Congratulations, lilflame!

• What to expect from Cartoon Animator 4, other than a name change. Reallusion will soon release Cartoon Animator 4, the next iteration of the easy to learn, professional, 2d animation studio software, CrazyTalk Animator. To learn more about the new program, the 2D animation specialist David Arandle spoke about some of its new features and how they will benefit his workflow.

• Egon Schiele, The Complete Works Online. Egon Schiele Online comprehensively documents the artist's paintings, drawings and watercolors, sketchbooks, graphics, and sculptures.

• Happy 25th anniversary to Blender!. Blender was released publicly online as SGI freeware on Jan. 1, 1998. Since then the open-source application has grown to be a player in the 3D application scene.
