Here is his basic bio: 3D render amateur artist. Sometimes I might surprise and post some traditional doodles. Biker Mice from Mars and Predator are my biggest fandoms. I like reading, computer and console games, crafting. My main tools for digital art are Daz Studio and Gimp.
I do like being alone or with people who are as odd as I am.
Interview with Artist of the Month Ukuotus
Renderosity: How did you get started as a digital artist?
Ukuotus: I basically started from curiosity and trying out new things. I got my very first computer around 2000 for school work and had some catching up to do. I’m still facinated by what is possible to create digitally. Finding first fansites about favorie TV shows and seeing people being able to transfer their drawn artwork into digital artworks and create digital art.
I though that I definitely do want to try show my drawings to maybe get some feedback and tips how improve. As for discovering 3D art, I saw and read article about Daz Studio from a computer magazine. It occasionally introduced affordable programs. Something about it interested me. It was complicated to get somewhat a hang of it. It needed a seconth chance and loss of first content library. It also started as hobby.
You combine 2D and 3D very creatively. How did you develop this style?
Ukuotus: I'm not kidding that it is result of trial and error. As well as sometimes 3D render is just missing something and it is most often best to add on later.
What is the typical workflow on a creative project?
Ukuotus: My usual workflow starts from an idea and ends into finished project that can take from few hours into few years due work, motivation and hobbies.
What artists have influenced/inspired you?
Ukuotus: I do have favorite artists who I appreciate and adore their artworks but I cannot say that they had inspired me or had much of influence or an impact. I have been more influenced by pop culture, movies, manga, myths and music as well as from things around me.
Any last thoughts you'd like to share?
Ukuotus: Don’t be afraid to try something new or follow the flow wherever it takes you.
