SIGMAWORLD is our March 2020 Artist of the Month. He has been a member of Renderosity since 2006. He previously won the AOM in 2011. We think he is an amazing artist and his gallery is filled with well-crafted and imaginative scenes created primarily with VUE. SIGMAWORLD lives in Berlin, Germany.

Interview with SIGMAWORLD
Renderosity: Your work with Vue isn't the traditional digital landscape, but whole scenes that suggest stories. Why do you work this way?
SIGMAWORLD: Well, in many of my pictures I enjoy telling my own stories. In working like that, I also give the viewer a lot of scope to incorporate his own thoughts / interpretations. I like pictures that have to be “discovered”.
Tell us about your background. how did you become a digital artist?
SIGMAWORLD: I have to look back to 2001 where it all began. From 2001-2004 I wrote an SF book called "SIGMAWORLD" (over 700 pages). The book is for private use only, which is why only two copies exist, But for this book I really wanted to include some scenes with my own pictures in the corresponding text passages. Wanting to include my own pictures got me involved with the program Bryce which I used until 2008. I have been working with Vue mainly since, because in Vue I have a lot more options to create scenes than Bryce. Since January of this year I have started to get into working with Unreal Engine 4.
Some of your scenes have incredible textures. How to you work with textures in Vue?
SIGMAWORLD: I partly work with the textures coming with Vue or for some other objects with the textures they come with. I may also change these to my liking or create completely new materials myself in the extensive material editor in Vue. From time to time I also use the Filter Forge program.
How has renderosity made a difference in your life as an artist?
SIGMAWORLD: Renderosity is inspiring through the many artists and their excellent pictures in the galleries and giving me motivation again and again to pursue my hobby.

SIGMAWORLD: Just a very big thanks you to all those who voted for me and my pictures and made it possible for me to become Artist of the Month March 2020. It is a great pleasure to me and I am very happy about it!
