Renderosity: Tell us about yourself: who is Christophe3D?

Christophe3D: I am Christophe a 51-year-old man (already!). I’ve been doing 3D for almost 20 years. I trained in the early 2000s in the days of low-speed internet, social media didn’t exist, no online tutorials, so I learned by buying specialized books. In short, I am an old dinosaur :)

What is the typical workflow on an item you add to your store?

Christophe3D: First to have an idea, then I look for references of images that could help me to start the project. In general, I start my modeling in 3dsMax, or Zbrush according to the needs of the project. I paint the textures with 3Dcoat which I prefer to Zbrush for this, I find it more ergonomic and a lot of possibilities are available. Photoshop is always there for various tasks and I put all the elements together in Daz Studio to complete the project.

How has Renderosity made a difference in your life?

Christophe3D: This is a very interesting question and I would like to take this opportunity to send a message to the staff at Renderosity, who may not necessarily realize how important Renderosity has been to me for all these years. Renderosity is indeed a major part of my life. I’ve watched Renderosity grow all these years, change, evolve, etc … I think I can speak for a lot of sellers here just by saying thank you to Renderosity for existing.

Any advice for sellers just starting out?

Christophe3D: I don’t like to give advice, so I’ll just share my experience. First of all, I tried to master the technique as well as possible, to perfect it over time. When I started I used as little software as possible (3dsMax, Photoshop), over the years I have learned that each of them has its strengths and weaknesses. By identifying the strengths of each and therefore using the functions that make my work easier and therefore save time, it allows me to focus on the essential things: aesthetics and ease of use for the customer. Contrary to ten years ago I was doing non-stop work sessions of twelve hours behind the screen, now I section my days by taking the air with my dogs in order to keep my mind clear. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is essential when you get older :)
