Our Renderosity Vendor of the Month for January 2022 is Sveva. This supremely talented and popular vendor keeps winning this award. She has so much talent and works so hard for her fans and customers. She has won the Vendor of the Month several times and they are all well-deserted. And not only is Sveva talented, but she’s a wonderful person as well.
We congratulate Sveva for winning the Vendor of the Month award. Check out our short interview with Sveva below.
What are your current projects, Sveva?
Sveva: Currently I am still doing what I always do - textures with my partner Lilflame, sometimes backgrounds/resources/lights, and last year I taught myself how to make dForce clothes for Daz. So a little bit of everything from me! I am also teaching/training my husband to work with some programs I use, it should help speed up my work process - we hope! More things to come soon as I am always learning something.
How do you decide on what to create for future projects? Do you do research?
Sveva: Well, I don’t have much control over this you see, I’m usually forced to do what my head tells me. Or you could say my “muse” tells me what to do, sounds cliche but I guess that’s what it is. So, it’s hard for me to get into something I don’t want to do, plus having ADHD like my son, many projects get abandoned as I find something else that catches my attention and it’s hard to stay focused for too long on one thing. It’s also why a lot of the clothing I make or do an add-on for is 1-2 pieces, my attention span is short! Lol!
Also, I do what my partner does; so if Lilflame does an outfit I do the add on, unless it doesn’t need one, but 99% of the time I just do what she hands me and I’m happy for that because it means I’ve usually got something going on and she’s not only a partner she’s one of my best friends. We get on really well, we have worked together for years now. Sometimes she has me do the base textures plus I make the add ons that’s always fun, but a lot of work.
I go with what I feel like doing and what my partner has for me and I like it that way. I’m good with that!
How do you keep yourself fresh as an artist?
I like looking at the Renderosity market place and other art sites - any form of art be it video games, visual, movies, TV, even books etc is an inspiration that can trigger an new idea. I read every night, mostly psych thrillers, horror, suspense and mystery. But not with detectives and I am not crazy for those types. I have actually starting writing more but it’s slow going since all my time and energy goes into my Rendo shop, my kids, and my small backyard “farm” where I have 6 or so chickens, a big rooster, and 3-4 coops of quail I raise and hatch for different reasons. I’m extremely busy.
What other things do you do besides graphic arts design?
Sveva: I keep myself extremely busy, between my kids/husband, and my “work” I have my garden, and what I like to call our “micro farm” (chickens, quail, we are currently breeding the quail as well) I rarely get a moment to spare! When I do get some time to myself or some free time, I love to read psychological thriller novels, and play video games, that is if I am not outside in the garden with the chickens or running the kids to and from school. I fit a lot into the hours of each day, I am excited that summer will soon be here and we can all have a break from the school routine, which means I get more time to work late at night while everyone is sleeping, it's quite peaceful to work at that time of night for me, so I look forward to the schedule change and not getting up every morning at 6:45am!
What kinds of hardware do you use to create with?
Sveva: ...my favorite bit of tech is my beautiful Maingear PC. It’s a beast and I love it. I also love my big gorgeous monitor, I only use Samsung, and I only use Razor for keyboard/mouse and of course they color change which is essential to work in some way I’m sure of it.
