Renderosity Member PhilC has Passed Away

Mar 20, 2023 at 02:00 pm by gToon

We are saddened to announce the death of Renderosity member PhilC (Phil Cooke). He has been a member of Renderosity since 1999 and has posted some work with Poser in his gallery. He was much loved by his large extended family who received a double blow because back in early March, Phil’s wife, Jan, passed away. We send out condolences and prayers to the entire family.

A live service was held for Phil on Monday, March 20. Here is what the family posted about Phil Cooke there:

Philip John Cooke, 68, passed away March 17, 2023 at U.K. Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY. Born July 12, 1954 in the United Kingdom, Philip was the son of Raymond Cooke and Marjorie Phyllis Percival Cooke.

Phil was recently preceded in death by his loving wife Janet Lee Sykes Cooke, who passed on March 2, 2023.

A bus driver for the Anderson County Board of Education, Philip was known as a craftsman and archery coach. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee, several times as chairperson. He also recently served on the children’s and youth new building committee, as a greeter, an usher, and was a member of the Joy Sunday school class.

We will miss you, Phil Cooke.

He will be missed! One of my very first friends here at Renderosity. Such a sad day! :(
Always such a nice man who was ever ready to educate and lend a hand to less experienced artists. I won't forget you Phil. R.I.P.
Although I didn't know him personally. I've been seeing his freebies and products for years ever since I first got into Poser and discovered online communities like this site. My sympathies to his family and friends.
He certainly will be missed Renapd. He was a talented member, who made many innovative tools that were integrated into Poser. He had a cheeky quirky sense of humour and was happy to help many people on their Poser journey with the skills he had. Very glad to have known him. If only in the occasional conversations had over the years. Condolences to his family and friends. R.I.P PhilC.
Oh so sad to hear this! He influenced the Poser world for more than 20 years, be it with models, or with great tools (which he often gave away for free on top!) or with helpful tutorials or personal advice whenever you contacted him... We started using Poser and supporting software about the same time, and as far as I can think back, his label PhilC was already known by me very early and was always a hint to better read his post because there was always something to learn from him... I always enjoyed getting in contact with him over whatever subject, because he was a really friendly person and ready to support and help people any time. Phil, you made an impact to the world, not only the Poser world, which most ordinary humans can never manage to achieve. I hope you went in peace and can probably watch all of us from somewhere. You certainly left a gap here on Earth, not only in your family at home, but also worldwide.
