NIck_Larsson: I split my time between New York and the north of Sweden. I like to move around, so I am thinking about relocating back to LA if I can find work there.
Nick_Larsson: I work as an art director doing graphic design projects and concepts for fashion photoshoots. I wasn’t interested in fashion when I was younger, so I happened to get into it by chance thought. But I think fashion is a great source of inspiration since it’s ever-changing and often gives you an insight into society.
Nick_Larsson: Blender for any modeling or customization. Then I love Adobe Substance Stager for still-life rendering. I do people, I work in Daz3D, since its the quickest for creating characters and posing them I think. Most characters are too perfect, or too exaggerated, out of the box so I usually combine two character morphs to get something that’s beautiful but has something unique to them. Perfection without something unique or slightly off is just boring. Besides that, I always find reference images for what I want to create. Could be an old painting, a fashion editorial or a comic book. I like finding unexpected references for the subject Im trying to tell story around.
Nick_Larsson: I try to make images in series with one theme, and The Sabrina one was part of a Halloween series where I tried to pair different monsters and creatures with contemporary fashion brands that would fit their personality. Sabrina the teenage witch having this cute playful style I dressed in Miu Miu and then of course I had to include her cat salem. I tried to capture Sabrina as she looks in the old series as well as how she is portraited in the modern take.
Nick_Larsson: I actually got into this about two years ago between freelance work when I wanted to learn something new, so I would say I myself am just starting out and still learning. But as for anything in life the trick is to choose something you are passionate about and then push yourself to do things that you find challenging versus doing what is easy. To challenge myself for example i always try to make a few images in a series, to push myself to get a specific look and feel in several images versus it being a lucky one off.
