This animation and promotional images were created in PoserPro 2014 using the Firefly render engine. The opening letter was created with Microsoft Office 2007. Music is a public domain recording of "O Tannenbaum" played by a 100+ year old symphonium available at http://www.freesound.org/people/thulitt/sounds/150026/ A small amount of postwork (less than an hour) on the promotional image was applied to the PoserPro 2014 Firefly render using Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006 Editor. The animation was assembled with the Corel Visual Studio Editor x2. I have been working on this project on and off since the contest was announced. The animation final composition consists of 6 video clips selected from over 20 clips consisting of different motion sequences, lighting set-ups, and camera takes. Not counting test renders in preview mode and still renders, and not counting render time for video clips edited out of the final version, the total rendering time for the 6 video clips took approximately 22 hours on an 8-core I7 processor. Again, not counting set-up time spent on the clips that were edited out, the amount of time required to set up the animation sequences was approximately 40 hours. The amount of time calculating the hair and cloth dynamics for the selected clips was approximately 6 hours. The next-to-final version of this animation, which was in HD at 1280x720 pixel resolution, slightly exceeded the contest guidelines and came in at about 75 MB. Using the Corel Visual Studio x2 MPEG optimizer function and constraining the final product to less than 50 MB resulted in the submitted version, which has somewhat reduced resolution.
