On October the 31st 1976 in the small town of Oakfield, police received numerous calls from concerned residents, about a strange clown approaching children and their parents going about their trick or treating, offering free balloons. Descriptions were not great as all the witnesses could not describe much apart from his eyes,which were desribed as intense,hypnotic or mesmerising. Later that night more reports came in, of a red pickup leaving the town limits with a large group of people,mostly juveniles, running blindly behind. 10 children and 3 adults were reported missisng. The whereabouts of the clown and the presumed "abductees" are still unknown to this day.The press dubbed the case the Oakfield Pied Piper.
