Just Half a Tree
Yep, that is what this is a photo of. As I was hanging our tree I was reminded of what started all this. We have used this pretty little tree to decorate our livingroom since a very memorable Christmas a couple of years ago when our youngest daughter had gifted us with two siamese mix kitties. Even though we were always able to decorate with our normal trees, that year was quite different. Their names are Truffles and Sapphire and thought that they should nest in our tree that we had put up, it got so bad that the branches were falling off or drooping so far down that we just knew we would have to do something different with these two stubborn kids. Never did we have problems with our four legged furkids that we had in the past, a squirt with a bit of water usually deterred them from that kind of behavior. So this little 4 foot tree gets hung up on the wall every year and bestowed with as many of our special ornaments as we can tastefully fit on it. The lights are actually fiberoptic lights that fade from one color to another so it was a guess as to what colors they would be with the long exposure that was needed for this photo. Shot with a Nikon n1 full spectrum converted camera. A bit of adjustments and a simple frame added in Photoshop and I felt it was ready. That first Christmas with those two new kitties was a very special Christmas that will be remembered for years to come, I don't know what we would do without all of our furkids no matter how naughty they can be.
Shot several versions of this and I imagine that all told, with the adjustments that I made it took about an hour.
Merry Christmas all and good luck to all the wonderful artists participating in this contest, I truly love seeing what everyone comes up with for these contests.
