The idea came in small steps.
No persons, was the advice of my wife. So I stuck with some props, with or without connection to christmas. But it should evoque some christmas feeling, so it had a lot to do with the lighting. I wanted to create some magic from lights, not from gifts.
There's no snow, my wife mentioned, so I added some snow, just to find, the lighting had dramatically changed.
After all, two weeks of finding the idea, a weekend of finalizing, some dozens of test renders, in the end just some background needed to be added. All done in Daz Studio Iray without postwork. The render itself took around 45 minutes for the final image. One of fourty - I hope you like it.
