Entry #9

I actually hand drew my image using color pencils and oil pastels before some post work in photoshop CS5.

This was my eighth idea after giving up on multiple ideas that didn't pan out the way I imagine they would.

What inspired me was the Disney doll that I own, along with Toy Story, and  the murderous doll movies. I was thinking about why parents tell their kids to pick up their toys after they are done playing. The  toys are evil and they will kill you.

I wasn't keeping complete track of time, but I'm guessing about 16 hours

Lauren sat in her closet, hiding behind her princess dresses. What had started out as her sixth birthday, had turned into a nightmare. It had occurred after she had gone to bed. She awoke to the grandfather clock chiming a late hour. She was about to close her eyes again when she notice her new doll was missing. She got up out of bed, approaching where the doll had been. Had it fallen back? The space back there was empty, along with her toy chest which normally was sealed at night was open and void of toys. She scampered out of her room, into the hallway. She had gotten to the stairs going down, when her body froze in fright. Her doll was climbing up the staircase with  a cutting knife in its hand. Her mind  was telling her to run and hide, but her feet refused  to move. The doll climbed closer and closer. before the doll reached the top stair her body broke out of the freeze. Lauren  ran full speed in terror back to her room, catching a glimpse of the doll at the top of the stairs as she slammed the door shut behind her. The door did not lock so she ran  to her closet, pulling the clothing aside she wiggled into the hiding spot behind her princess dresses. That was where she was when she heard the door creak open and the thump from the doll dropping to the floor. She held her breath trying to be as small as she could be. the clothing swished in front of her. The knife tip slipped into view as the doll followed. Lauren screamed.
