Story of a vampire

July was a girl like many others: pretty, simple, with a family and plans for the future. One evening, after taking her last class at the university, she was returning to her apartment. It was winter and already dark, it was very cold and the streets were deserted. Suddenly she had the feeling that someone was following her, she turned around, but saw no one. She quickened her pace, thought maybe she was mistaken, but.... That feeling... She was about to climb the stairs leading to her apartment when an icy hand grabbed her, she felt sharp teeth biting her neck, she screamed, but no one heard her. She could not break free from that deadly embrace. Her strength left her and she fell lifeless on the floor.
  When she awoke she found herself in a strange, ancient place: she did not understand.... She felt different, what had happened to her? Around her strange, pale, sharp-toothed creatures: "Welcome! Now you are one of us" said one of them.
Thus began her new life as a vampire, one she never imagined, nor wanted: the end of everything she knew and her dreams as a girl. Now she has to live in darkness and feed on blood to live, but vampire or not, you always have your free will and she made her choice: she refuses to kill. While everyone else goes on the hunt for homeless people to maul them and make the corpses disappear, July leaves them alive: after all who would believe an alcoholic bum who tells:" Hey, last night I was bitten by a vampire!"
