The Winter Sonnet So cold we say is winter's grasp It keeps the spring at bay And yet alone it fails to clasp Emotions as they play The long flight, a chill, as we sail Across the snow filled plain Toboggans built to ford the hail All is but fun and game A child's mind is winter's rose The snow they love to kiss Snow angels with sincere repose This time we reminisce I fear the spark of winter, is merely a fool's gold Yet in my mind a child plays within its icy mold
