Matching Content Products with Buyers: The Marketplace Challenge

Once you get the hang of it, dynamic clothes are easy to use - and the result is very, very realistic. There is nothing to be afraid of; just find a good tutorial and follow it :)
one thing would be realistic fantasy armor rather than two Band-Aids and a cotton ball
As a buyer, I would ask for *LESS* girl clothes! That's the vast majority of what I see in Renderosity emails and it is getting tiresome. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would prefer to see environments, creatures and buildings. I want to stick with Poser and enjoy those things, but it is looking more and more that I may have to switch to Daz to get the things I would like.
like dynamic clothes what i don't see is content for older poser figures like vicky dawn and others does anyone still make that content?
I remember when (a long time ago) I didn't understand a basic/fundamental thing for dynamics (perhaps because there were no tutorials). I didn't understand that for the dynamics to work I had to first have the figure in a "0" (or starting) position, then load the clothes, move the cursor from 0 to 30 (or more) choose the pose for our figure, go to the "Cloth" room choosing the various options and then have Poser calculate the dynamics. Since then I try to do many tests and illustrations with dynamic clothes: the results are so beautiful!
I wish vendors would provide more jewelry. I am tired of using the same stuff for my renders.
Ever occur to you that it might be a matter of asking the users what they want instead of guessing? Ask them what their artistic goals are? Not everyone has a goal of making photo realistic renders. (If I want a photo, I'll get my camera out.) Some of us are illustrating stories. No, not necessarily with photo-realism. Some people want pictures of their D&D characters. Some want a picture of their favorite fantasy. (Given the amount of clothing that's mostly holes instead of fabric, I'd guess a great many of those fantasies are sexual. Or at least the vendors think they are.) Some want to do pictures of fairies, small fuzzy animals (kitties!), or nature. I rather imagine there are also another dozen ways to use 3D art I'm not even guessing at that needs models and skills that haven't even been addressed by the market. A great many of the things I DON'T buy are not bought simply because they don't fit what I want to do, not because of me not having the technical ability to do something with them. I learned to do basic modeling because there were things I wanted and needed that simply weren't available to buy. (Even if I'd had the money...which is a different topic.) Sure, put up lessons. Lessons are always good. But you might want to ask the people out there who are going to be using the software about which lessons they want, and what they plan to make pictures of. You'd be more likely to hit the target that way. And as someone who is also a vendor, I'd like to know what the users would like to see in the market as well. What types of things? There's probably a hundred things needed that no one has made a model of yet!
I have been using Poser to make animations showing how to teach gymnastics. These are animations aimed at Elementary through College (Junior Olympic Levels 1-10 + Elite). First, I looked for leotards and found that all but one (thank you RPublishing for Olympic Leotard) was actually a swimsuit. Gymnastics Leotards extend to the arms. Secondly there are very few hair choices that keep the hair out of the way (3Dream Amor & Miana). Thanks
We'd love to make more conforming clothes for Poser, but the workflow is so complex we just gave up. Dynamic clothes look better, but the cloth room remembers too much and doesn't clear out the previous poses like DS does, so one often has to start a clean new file--which is frustrating if you have spent a lot of time setting up the old one.
Could Renderosity to add some tool for features request to creator pages? It is not conveniently just address through site mail.
I use both conforming ahd dynamic clothing. Conforming clothes are easier to use because dynamics requires planning ahead: you set up your scene, then add a figure at frame 1, set up a pose at a later frame (enough frames to let the cloth move naturally), check if there are no bodypart collisions getting to the pose, add some drape frames if needed, then setup the dynamic parameters and zones if needed, then run the dynamics. The results are often better compared to conforming, but it takes time, especially if you want to make changes. You have to keep thinking of which frame to use to make changes (frame 1, pose frame, drape frame) and do the dynamics again. So I made it a practice to use conforming first, then - when needed - to change to dynamics.
I LOVE dynamic clothing. please don't stop creating new ones!!!!
Very interesting topic. Also, don't forget the age old adage, "You can't please everyone." I'm just happy there is such a diverse group of creators, making such diverse content. I'll admit, I love to mod items such as change colors or designs in order to better fit a scene or theme that I'm doing and it's great when the creator has made the item to be so diverse. I also like how approachable and easy to work with a lot of the content creators are here. I've bought some items from other sites, that you can't get ahold of the creator at all to even ask a question about something with the item. I'm just glad I found this site, because I've gotten some really awesome products to use for my art. I appreciate it. Thank you! I just look for items that I find interesting and would like to have for current and future projects. Some items are great, some are just not that appealing. It's all just a matter of choice(s). Not everyone is going to like everything. Trial and error will usually work for a lot of items to see what people are needing/wanting. Plus, I know that if I'm looking for something in particular, I can always just reach out to a content creator and see if they can create something for me, if needed. I know that they may not want to, or are capable of doing it, but you never know unless you ask.
Is there any plans in the future to create a new baby/child for poser, I like to use children in my renders because that makes my renders more like real life. I now use Kids 4 & Mil Baby 3 but there was not that much for Mil Baby or even the hivewire Baby Luna
