Go to cool and groovy stuff. Everything that's free is listed there somewhere.

MightyPete ( ) posted Sat, 14 December 2002 at 2:05 PM

Guitta We should change that link to say COOL, GROOVY & FREE STUFF cause eveyone seems to miss the link.

OK, I have done it. People are so lazy. It's soooo easy to ask others to search for them...

sorry,, it was a dom question

Lazy?? Perhaps not surfing here every day!!! Cool&Groovy didn't say a thing. People must dare asking "stupid" question whithout getting a flame answer.

MightyPete ( ) posted Sat, 14 December 2002 at 8:06 PM

Cool & Groovy says it all every mesh on the web almost is avialable there. I just when threw the hole wad again looking for other stuff and I never seen any famous sculptures. That wasn't a flame I answered somebody's queston and they delete there question now it makes no sence. I'll delete my answer.

Mighty, I was not reacting on your post!! You didn't call anyone lazy, you tried to explain why people answered as the did. Vue is a small software and it's important that this forum don't frighten people away from it. That's why I reacted as I did.

"Free, cool & groovy" may be a better title, since people search always for free things ;=) Yves

Yves, it is written VERY big and VERY red. And it is at top of the forum. Everybody MUST see it and be able to read it, even visitors who comes for the first time:-)

MightyPete ( ) posted Sun, 15 December 2002 at 11:05 AM

It is not red in netscape FYI. The special christmas deal offer is in red. That text is just the default yellow here.

...since every week or so someone asks for comparison between Vue and Bryce or other software, to add a link to the header banner with something like "Compare Vue and other s/w" or something. That would save a lot of the "should I buy Bryce or Vue" posts. I don't think "Cool, Groovy, and Free Stuff" would naturally lead someone to look in there for the comparison info. And I agree with Rimkopf re flame. Unnecessary.

it says now "cool & groovy & free" - in yellow on Mac IE. But what is the difference to "free stuff" now? Is the free stuff not cool or not groovy? Maybe the word "links" should appear there. Or "our database" to make it clearer to visitors who are not here every day. I think its a good idea to add a box up there saying "Vue compared with others" - or something. But it is probably a lot of work for Gebe, so she should decide. Walther

People see FREE cause it's a four letter word. It was my idea. You only got a little box there guys so i figure if you put FREE there they go look and find all the other COOL & GROOVY stuff when there looking for the FREE STUFF ! Make sence? It don't matter flashing text 1024 X 768 even and people will still ask hey should I buy Bryce or Vue and where can I find this.... You can't win. It the most asked questions around here. There is no difference free is free last time I looked one place is here and the other places are all over the planet. FAQ maybe OR READ FIRST BEFORE YA ASK A BUNCH OF QUESTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN ASKED AND ANSWERED A BILLION TIMES BEFORE. It don't matter say I cant find a mesh like I know where all those links go i've been to all of them several times then should I ask? Ha Ha Or when you click on new post it takes you there instead and way down at the bottom hidden and really small is a new button that says new post...

May I suggest something which could help the visitors to find what they search without asking : If possible, we could add some "mouse over" menus on the word "TUTORIALS", "COOL&GROOVY&FREE", "GALLERY", "FREE STUFF" . These menus should describe what is inside the links, and guide visitors on the good way. But the problem is that will give lot of work to Guitta, and maybe it's not possible to do that inside renderosity forum ;=) Yves
