I just uploaded my P4 character Circe (see image and URL). I use Poser4 on a PC. I asume both MAC and PC users can use the model since Poser is a hybride program. Am I right in that or can she only be used on PC cause she's made on PC? Menno aka meegja

Any Mac user can use the file if they run it through MartinC's MacConverter utility (in free stuff utilities). Most people know about it because this topic comes up often, but it never hurts to mention it again... -Jim

That's a very nice character, BTW: a very macho looking woman, but still good looking. (I'm on a mac, and converting PC format stuff to mac when I download it is so routine I don't even notice I'm doing it anymore. It's just one more step, like unzipping it.)

Poser may be cross platform but it would help the Mac community if the file wasn't an .exe, but just saved in a zipped file. Mac doesn't have the ability to open .exe files after unzipping. 8 minutes to download and you get some of Bills finest. Ho hum:-)

Oliver, thanx for that! I will make it one whole ZIP file, without the selfextracting EXE in it and upload it. Try again in one hour. Menno

Hi Stuffit expander or stuffit deluxe 5.5 can open some .exe files but not all of them. Menno, in the future please just zip up all the files and not put them in an executable file. Oliver S, the exe in the circe zip can be unzipped by stuffit, just drag and drop. wander

Hmmm... I wasn't aware of the .exe files, but I have always used stuffit expander on all downloads from free stuff and have never, ever, encountered a problem (except when the file itself was hosed up). I have never had a downloaded poser file that MacConverter wouldn't fix, either. However, if some people encounter such problems, I guess it's best just to avoid .exe files altogether when making items available for download. When I put up files for download, I convert to PC format first so all can use them. -Jim

The file is now available as one single ZIP ... no exe in it :o} Menno

many apologies, spent so long in the twilight zone of cross platform land and ZipIt that I forgot about StuffIt Expander 4.0.2 and only tried StuffIt Expander 5.1.2! The .exe did expand ok. Slap wrist etal. Thanx wander, sorry for the extra work Menno.

The major downside to an .exe is it open the door to worms and virii and password stealing trojans. Not that it's a problem, but you might inadvertently pass something nasty along to a Windows user.
