I have been seeing some posts over time, for people looking for arabian textures and clothes....the clothes I have seen on offer are more old style Iraqi/Persian than anything else... I live in the Arabian Gulf in United Arab Emirates, if anyone wants some reference pics I will post some of traditional Kandora's, thobes, abaya's and the headress and head piece (Wagaya and Gutra) and can get you texture samples of everything if u so need them... Including pics of the amazing gold jewelery and traditional headpieces the Gulf women wear on special occasions, traditonal henna designs and so forth

Id love to see the pics of the headdresses and jewelry. I'm guessing that when folks innocently ask for "arabian" stuff they're really just after generic, exotic, middle-eastern, 1001 Nights-type things, not a specific cultural dress. Just a guess. Thanks for the offer!

OK I will sort some out and post them after my wedding next week..

Actually, the abayas (aba - similar to a caftan with underarm gussets?) and other basic clothing would be good, too. I have Heather Colyer Ross's book on Arabian Costume, but there really isn't that much available with real wearable clothing. And congratulations on the wedding! Carolly

Thanks Carolly, I am british but converted to Islam and I wear Abaya plus the viel, (I just show my eyes)..most people in west dont see the beauty of the Gulf clothes especially the Hijab, some of our female abayas cost over $1000 black of course but in transparent materials, light silks and encrusted with crystals and beadwork, same for the kandora's I wear, I should scan some of them the beadwork is amazing.
