Subject: Any more updates for Tailor?

ookami ( ) posted Wed, 18 December 2002 at 11:58 AM · edited Sat, 11 January 2025 at 11:45 AM

Can anyone tell me if there are any plans to update Tailor? The author seems like he has dropped off the face of the earth. It's a great program... but it definately needs some bugs fixed... and some features added would be nice too... Anyone know?

Yup... I have it... but it still doesn't address many of the bugs. Sigh. It had such potential... but I think the author made his money and washed his hands of it. Sigh.

I contacted CodeTwister a couple of months ago about continued support for Tailor. He indicated with the release of Poser 5 (and dynamic cloth), he believed there was going to be much less demand for Tailor. He stated he did not believe that there would be any reason to make additional modifications to the program.

Maybe we could start a petition? If enough of us got together and asked for a change, maybe he would see that Tailor is still being used.

Well I'll sign your petition - paricularly for "pull in" morph support. Many of us don't yet have P5, and many people are still releasing conforming clothing which needs morph support even in P5.

ookami: I totally agree with you! I use The Tailor very often. Chris

So do I. Add my name to that "petition". Dave

If he isn't planning to continue supporting it, I hope he doesn't have plans to sell any other software in here... his rep just went "poof"

Hello, I am here! The problem is that I am very very busy these days. I have the Poser5 box on my desk from a couple of months and I have non found the time to install it yet. Yes, with the release of Poser5 I have suspended the develop of The Tailor. The question was: will be The Tailor still useful? Or Poser5 will make of it an obsolete and useless application? Thanking those who have e-mailed me their opinions, I have now understood that The Tailor can keep, in the future, his little place near the big Poser. So, in the first months of the next year I will reorganize my time and will start an upgrade of the program. Bye, CodeTwister

I would think that an upgrade wouldve eventually become necessary. Especially for those of who continue to use it and dont plan on upgrading to Poser 5 anytime soon ($$$). It is still a VERY useful tool even with the introduction of Poser 5, IMHO. Dave

I have Poser 5 and I still use The Tailor very frequently. It's much faster and easier to use this program than try to use the dynamic cloth feature or whatever other folks are using to get clothing to fit.

Zenman53186 ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 1:35 PM

I agree that Tailor is still very useful with Poser 5. CodeTwister, thanks for rethinking your position. I look forward to an update sometime next year!

Toss me on there! I likethe dynamic cloth, but the Tailor has one MAJOR bug that needs to be addressed... the moving of the garment if there is no "hip" body part.

Oh Yes!!!!! Tailor is my favorite Poser utility of all time, and will remain so! Please continue to develop it, CT - it's worth it! :] Fish
