More news here. SHE IS AWESOME ! Whew..I can finally shout it from the rooftops. Whats cool is that she loads with no morphs, you select which ones you want and leave out the rest. Check it out Tom

Deer, rodent, and feline ear morphs ... wolf teeth morphs ... sock morphs ... inhale morphs for us animators .... grin Wait a minute ... what happened to the fox-face morph?

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 10:18 PM

I'm confused...there is the base product and the base upgrade...they both look identical...what's the deal with that???

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 10:18 PM

Well, unless I am wrong, which is not unlikely, DAZ has done it again. I mean, I fully expected V3 to cost much more than V2. But from what I see, texture maps and all, it's a real bargain. What with the P-Club discounts and all...MY GAWD !

nightravenx ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 10:18 PM

^^^ For those just scanning subjects. :) Man, and I'm already po'. Darn you DAZ people! ;)

milamber42 ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 10:19 PM

Base upgrade is for V1/V2 owners...

stop! must... resist.... ~DM

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 10:30 PM

unless I screwed up the selections...$56.27 for v3 base upgrade, both morph packages, hi res textures, hi res contour maps, and the fashion make up pack...Platinum Club prices.... Is that contour texture pack necessary?

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 10:41 PM

Base vs. Base Upgrade.... I do have V1/V2...but how does that work exactly? Does V1/V2 have to be present within Poser? Does it overwrite the CR2 file?? Is the upgrade stand alone?

greenbd ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 10:47 PM

$42.20 for V3 upgrade, both morph paks, and hi-res textures only. Having the Platinum Club and the introductory sale is great. Otherwise, that stuff would list for $95!

mateo_sancarlos ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 10:49 PM

If it's based on the old vickie obj file, it may still have the same distorted areas, like the shoulders, knees, elbows, etc. So I hope it's a new obj file. But then guys who buy the file may regret it later if it's given away free as part of the Daz Character Animation Tool package.

zechs ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 10:50 PM

Ok, if I understand correctly...She doesn't come with any of the kind of morphs that we have come to expect? You have to buy the morphs seperately? Tell me I'm wrong here. If it is the case I'm gonna pass and stick with vicky 2. :(

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 10:56 PM

its kind of a modular system...the base comes with limited morphs, but enough to get rolling...then you can add body or face morphs. I also see an entry for V3 full package, but that isn't in the product section yet... Items are still popping up...must be doing the site right now...the morphs were listed in the Base description and have just now appeared in the new release section.

pizazz ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 11:02 PM

I'm downloading the head morphs now.. 25MB--- This is one big package

zechs ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 11:05 PM

Well If they will offer a full package I'd feel better. I mean it just kinda Felt odd thinking about buying a basically worthless model (unless you are a morph making maniac....who wants to do all their own morphs) and having to but all the morphs seperately. This isn't really the case of course since adding all the "Modules" together is still a good price. But it seems odd... and I fear change. :)

Cris_Palomino ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 11:11 PM

zechs - The download sizes are large....if it had been one package, I believe it would have been around 75 MB. It makes it easier to download. It also gives you some choice as to which morphs you want...package-wise. It shouldn't seem so odd once you understand that. Cris

Philodox ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 11:15 PM

OK, ya know, all this is great, but what about all the money I've already spent on stuff for Victoria? Will all that work with her? If not, do they include a version that will work with the Vicki clothing I've already got?

zechs ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 11:19 PM

Yes they do. Texturse probably don't work though. Ofcourse the improved joints won't be improved on the V2 compatible version (I would guess)

zechs ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 11:20 PM

acl I cinnot pchpell toonite

PheonixRising ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 11:25 PM

The makeup maps are a face add-on for any of the base map paks. The morphs are broken out so you can buy just what you want. She still isn't any more pricy than V2 was. The mesh, joints and morphs are completely reworked. The texture packs hi Res/Low Rez of those who want highlights or those who don't. Also a parentally safe one for young users. And yeah the Platinum People are able to use their additional discount. Anton

So Anton...we don't need both the universal and highlight textures?

zechs ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 11:33 PM

Yeah yeah... makes sense I guess... It was just a bit of a suprise.

Cris_Palomino ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 11:34 PM

Think of the universal maps as one where the software does the work...creating the shadows and highlights. The highlight textures has them independent of what the software may do. Also, the universal maps will be very good for the animator. Cris

greenbd ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 11:47 PM

Any thoughts of releasing a Hi-Res No-Gen map pak? If such had existed, I would have bought it instead of the regular Hi-Res textures.

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 11:48 PM

So universal would be good for Poser 5???

With that cool materials room? I would think so. :)

Question: well my first one about the Goddard look wasn't answered...hey! that's ok. Question 2: The lovely V3 Bombhell Long conforming hair: It's available from one of the links on V3 body morphs page (I think). It's not in the hair section yet and I was under the impression (erronious perhaps, if so I apologize) that this was a PC item. Is it available, it shows up at $24.95 on my invoice; and is it a PC item? Thanks, Q

To the best of my knowledge, they should all be PC/Mac...there have only been a handful of PC-only items at DAZ. I'm sure there will be info forthcoming on Goddard. Cris

I know about Anne Marie. She was quite special. Thus my interest. Loved those curves. Sorry about the confusion Anton. I didn't mean to misrepresent the hair thing. I finally got it to register with the 30% off. So it's cool. I'll take your word that it's on the site. I could only get to it throught the V3 body morphs' link. Hey! I'm tired. Great work on this. It all looks great. Thank you and Happy Holidays. Q

IIRC, the Goddard Morph will be available seperately later on. I believe Dan Farr mentioned this a couple of weeks ago.
