I voted for Legume, too, obviously--Toxic Angel's technically really strong, but Legume's work comes from a whole different (scarier, sicker, much more original) place. Plus it often just flat cracks me up.

I understand it--there's some sense among us non-vendor peons that the sight is more and more run by and for the vendors, and that vendor art often amounts to thinly-veiled advertising for their own products. I'm not arguing the truth of that perception, only suggesting that such a perception exists.

ToxicAngel's art doesn't really promote his products like other vendors' though. I hope that the people who vote for Legume would vote for him because they feel his art makes a statement, not just to stand up against vendors or the vicky-in-a-temple crowd. Personally, technical skill is what I look for in an artist, since anyone can create something to rile people up, but there's no denying that Legume's a character. :) "your vote can make a difference. I'm new enough to Poser (3 months) that I'm not up on the vendor angle, but Legume's work is always thought-provoking and love him or hate him, he seems to hit a nerve with a lot of folks.

I agree, I enjoy Legume's work as much as the next person. (or a lot of them anyway), I think he's great. Then again, I also think ToxicAngel is great, and voodoo is great as well as several others around here. I look at a lot of things when determining what a great piece of work is, not only technical skill (though that's a huge part for me), but also the thought that goes into it. But at least I see what the vendor thing was now, a perception of some of the folk around the site. I can understand it, though I don't agree with it. =) ~Chelle
