Subject: V3.. Anybody having trouble?

Bothellite ( ) posted Fri, 20 December 2002 at 10:00 PM · edited Wed, 13 November 2024 at 10:48 PM

I had to install V3, HIRes TX Map, Body Morphs, Head Morphs in both P4 and then in P5 to get things working but now I can't, for instance get the nose morphs to show up. Anybody else having any trouble? Thanks.

I think someone said the nose morphs were removed or something. Do a search on nose morphs and check out the message.

Thanks. I will. I've been trying by clicking the droplist repeatedly and once in a while they will load some dials. It's like pulling teeth.

Finally got them to load.. I gig processor with 1 gig memory, XP Pro here. Was just s-l-l-l-ow to load.. real slow.... nose included.

Here is the thread I was speaking of, though.

As a final note.. I got the morph dials to load and then I saved my model. I went back and loaded my model and many of the dials are there but blanks... no definitions. I haven't taken the time to count them to see if they are in fact missing morphs or just ghosts. I'll try the nose dials in the morning to see if they work. Thanks very much!

the blank dials are a situation which comes up whenever you save V3 or any morph injected figure as a PZ3 or CR2 in poser. there is a small program called dial cleaner which removes these dials from your CR2/PZ3 you can download the free Dial cleaner program at the bottom of the Vicky 3 page in the Daz store.

I went to load a morph set and P5 froze. Did the three finger salute.

wdupre,

spot on, save one thing that would change the result quite a bit.

"...which removes these dials"

should read:

"...which hides these dials by removing specific code"

At first my P5 froze too. I had to ctrl/alt/del twice before I got the process to -- load dials -- to even grunt ahead. Thanks for the tip on the dial cleaner. I wonder if that's analogous to cleaning my clock?

Has anyone successfully added "All Head Morphs" or "All Body Morphs"? Tried in both P4w/PP and P5 only to have to kill them in the task manager. Maybe it takes much longer than expected, but I'm on a P4 2.53GHz system w/1GB memory, nothing else running. Is this a "go make a pot of coffee, have a cup, and watch the tele" kind of load?

Puntomaus ( ) posted Sat, 21 December 2002 at 5:03 AM

I could not get All Head Morphs or All Body Morphs load in P5, no chance. I could have done it one morph after the other but how long would that have taken? Finally I opened her in PoserProPack and tried the same and how amazing, ProPack put in All Body Morphs in a minute (yes, I was surprised too) and All Head Morphs as fast as well. I've read in some thread that someone had to wait nearly 10 minutes and I expected it to take that long for me too, but it was really that fast. I'm on an AMD Athlon XP2000, 1.6GHz, 512 MB RAM, Win XP Pro.

Wow. That's interesting about ProPak. I'll try that next time. It was looooong in P5. I took a shower while just the head morphs loaded and then I needed the dial cleaner majorly. Apparently it's not an issue of processor speed because I only have a 1 gig device.

Kiera ( ) posted Sat, 21 December 2002 at 5:57 AM

I moved Vicki 3 to Poser 5's Runtime (instead of using linked P4 Runtime) and the all head morph load time decreased significantly. Don't ask me why or how; it just did. All head morphs load in 3-7 minutes (depending what else I am doing) in P5 on my system; P4 1.7GHz, 768MB RAM, WinXP Home SP1. After seeing V3s 117MB CR2 with all the morphs injected, I determined that loading all the head morphs is a waste of system resources, and I have been injecting all expression morphs and then individual head morphs to create faces.

Well it looks like we have concensus.... that there isn't any concensus. Except one thing.... I need a new computer. Thanks.

yeah, i did it from the propack also after my p5 went to nirvana. funny how new technology works better with almost 4 year old software then with the new one...
