Subject: V3 - why won't she stop being pink and shiny?

OK, I brought my Vicky 3, plus her morphs, her hair and her super-detailed, 'gosh-its-real' hi-res texture map. When I installed every thing and clicked the hi-res tex mat - the computer whirred into life but no tex1 I waited and waited, and the computer thought. Nothing. So I went back to the Daz page and noticed that it said 'Reccomended 256 meg plus memory'. I have 256 DDR so I brought the med-res version, the other will have to wait until I get more memory inthe New Year. Well guess what, the med-res also spends forever loading on to Vicky. I have a 2gig Pentium 4 running XP and am using Poser 4 (Poser 5 from Christmas Day!). Why the heck can I not get the medium texture onto my VIcky, I can do it if I apply the texture manually but this takes forever. Any help appreciated.

Have you converted the bumpmaps to .bum? Could be that.

Yep, but thanks for the suggestion.

I had a similar problem that I bet you aren't having but I'll mention it anyway. I was clicking the wrong MAT file for the texture. I was clicking the tone MAT instead. As I said, this isn't what you are doing I would guess.

jcleaver, that's what I had. Start with the default texture first then click the tones.

A thousand apologies to Papu! I have just realised that there is also a tooth bump map. I havemanually loaded (and hence converted) all the maps and guess what - even the Hires one loads in just a few seconds. Thanks for your help folks!
