I'm test driving the demo of Poser. There's no help file whatsover. Disabled maybe? I wanted to buy Poser, but I'm not sure, based on the Demo. Any ideas or advice is really appreciated. Steve

I don't see the .pdf for Poser 5 there right now. (I wonder if they are revising it?) If you [search] (box in upper right of main page) for "pdf" 10 results will come back... including the User Guide for ProPack w/ SR3. That might have enough information for you to play with the demo. Carolly

I thought I had the record in my group, untli my friend reciently topped off at three weeks not being able to find the library tab on the right side of the screen. Now... are we just from the dumb part of town... or is this a common problem with newbees?

Well, I'm surprised at the number of people who'll wait until they've pulled out their hair in frustration... then log on, ask for help, and wait a few hours for a response... rather than open the manual and look in the index or read through the first tutorial or walk-through. So many of these programs have a basic walk-through (just like many computer games get you started by showing you how to move your avatar, collect inventory, and wield a weapon before setting yourself out on the quest). If you follow the first tutorial with that clown, you know how to load a character, clothe and accessorize him, turn on the lights, and make him jump through hoops... well, maybe only walk on a path. ;^) In a few hours you know where all the basic tools are located and how to use them. There is also a "quick guide" card in most of these packages (and Poser is no exception). Your friend would have found the libraries and animation tabs if he'd read the card... and he'd even know the secret keyboard shortcuts. Carolly

Its just like the whole not stopping for directions thing... just the way some men are. Hell, even though its taken everyday since august working on poser, I take pride in knowing that I'm self taught... with the majority. That... and I never thought of looking through the forums until recently... but I do like the sense of community. Now, anyone want to give me some pointers on making realistic looking gunfights? ;)
