Subject: Concerned

I'm just a little concerned... I've sold about 4 items, all by buyers who have done NOTHING on the site, have no artist page or free stuff. I'm just worried - is that common with anyone else? That most of your buyers have no work on Renderosity? My guess would be it would be people's cheap way around of crediting people by buying a product under another username. Maybe I'm just paranoid. I just get worried when my buyers show no other sign of activity on Renderosity. :-/

I would say 65%-75% of my buyers are 'anonymous' in the sense that they have no gallery or any other trace on the site, and at first it bothered me, but as it has been pointed out to me several times, some users have another account simply for buying products. It makes no real sense to me, but in some case it appears to be so. There will be those that are simply hobbyists and may not have the confidence in their creations to post at renderosity yet OR they may be pro's that neither have the time, inclination or freedom (in the copyright sense) to post here either. But sadly, the reality is that there are some customers who do buy your stuff and it wil be distributed freely on all the P2P networks within a matter of hours - these are obviously anonymous accounts for the most part. I am sure some people set the ccount up purely for the single purchase sometimes. Unfortunately, paranoia will get you nowhere, and only impede your will to carry on being a merchant, like it or not (and I despise it!), your stuff will be warezed in no time. Accept it as much as you can, but try not to let it get in your way - it's still possible to earn some honest money from it, despite the unscrupulous morons. ;)

The short answer: Yes, it's pretty common. ~EA

empresszario: i just wanted to send you an im concerning this but then i saw it - "Username: EmpressZario Real Name: Empress Zario" and you are wondering about anonymous buyers? and besides, what criterium is "no gallery at 'rosity"? there's a whole real world out there, you know, and not everyone is inclined to show to everyone else what's he/she doing. i'm using poser figures as a base for myriads of different illustrations for my clients and since i sell it to them, they have a copyright to use them as they like. lol, maybe they'll even show them here...

you guys are bubbling w/ joy, lol........ its pretty common, and its no big deal. keep a smile on your face, and keep making better products. its silly to worry about warezing and whatnot. i feel that those that take that route have no intention of buying anyway, so its not a "real loss of sales"..... people who have their stuff warezed still "get their$".

I have five or more folks that I usually do illustrations for. In return, they come here and buy presents for me, or anything else that they might want me to use in a pic for them. None of them have galleries. Most of them never leave comments anywhere but on my work. They don't post in the forums. This has been going on for a long time, before the wishlists were even available. Sometimes, they don't remember the wishlists are even there (and Clint has had more than a few instances where he needed to go in and shift gifts to show on my account instead of theirs). I can't be the only one. Then there are a lot of people that have gotten fed up with this site for some reason or another and pulled their galleries and stopped posting. When this is the only place a particular product is offered, if they need it, there's not a lot of choice. Some will still buy under their original user name, others will create new ones.

{you guys are bubbling w/ joy, lol........ its pretty common, and its no big deal.} lol! - I wasn't trying to be morose btw! - all the reasons stated are valid and true, I was just illustrating the reality of EZ's apparent fears too. :) Merry Xmas y'all!

Well, as the victim of several attacks by EmpressZario, I don't want to be childesh and put myself at her level. But this is too easy. Zario, have you stopped to consider that these people may not be happy with the product? Karl www.poserchikz.com
