It's kind of obvious really, but I only just discovered this through answering another thread on a related topic (link above). In simple words, if you save vicki 3 to the Pose Library and include the morph channels, you CANNOT use the morphs in that pose on a different vicki, ie. a vicki 3 who doesn't have the same morphs injected. In order for a pose to add morphs, the morphs must already be injected into the figure. So, if you have 10 different vicki characters, each one with different morphs that you tweaked, the morphs from one won't affect the others. The pose will work, no problem, but if you're wondering why your African vicki didn't turn into an Asian, even tho' you included the morphs in the pose, that's why. Of course, it's totally obvious when you think about it. It just never occurred to me, and I can see this is going to cause some confusion in the future. No doubt, it'll become a regular forum query, along with 'Why won't my MAT files work on props?'. Still, I don't see that there's any way round it. But the whole point of morph injection is NOT to load all the morphs at once, isn't it? LOL. mac

you can however save a pose to automaticly inject those morphs(it does take some text editing to do it though), which I think will be the way many V3 charicters will be distributed so as not to have the present hundred meg file a fully loaded V3 presents.

Yep! Already done it with one of my own models. It's easy enough, once you know how. Although, I wouldn't reccomend it to the faint-hearted. mac

Ahhhh ::smacks head:: ... I read it once and didn't understand, but upon reading a second time I realized that this kinda' happened to me to when using V3/V2 ... it was driving me crazy that the head morphs wouldn't take (most of 'em will, kinda'), and then I realized, it was because I didn't have the V3 head morphs injected. So yep, and imagine that the same logic will also apply to morphs included with special characters you might buy in the marketplace I've actually saved a V3 with all morphs. I don't "normally" save characters, but if I do, I can use the dial cleaner utility I suppose.

Ohhhhhhh well, that would answer why when I used the V3/V2 and tried to use V2 morphs on her, they wouldn't work. Even tho I've been using Poser for almost a year now, I'm still not real clear on meshes and stuff, so just figured it was like trying to put a V2 morph onto Posette or a low res vicki. :) It's nice to know that once I can afford to get the v3 head morphs/injections, I'll be finally able to use all those v2 morphs rofl.

Umm sorry Stormygirl, V2 uses a different mesh so the V2 morphs won't work on V3.

darn! oh well, I'm sure there will be plenty of V3 morphs soon hehe

IMO it's part of the problem that morph channels are overloaded. There should really be a distinction between facial expressions and facial features. As it is, one has no way of telling whether a downloaded pose is going to wipe your carefully constructed face or not.

"No doubt, it'll become a regular forum query, along with 'Why won't my MAT files work on props?'." Was just trying to be different mac ;) (besides, I actually don't understand why they don't work...)

Oh, that's easy. Props aren't Figures, that's why MATs don't work. Er.... does that explain it all? mac

ROFLMAO - not really. Damn it, I guess that means I have to have the 30 bazillion Anton's Antiques and Deco Redux files eh?
