I'm on a PC, but I don't think its a PC problem. Mapping transmapped hair is a bit tricky and I have a post somewhere in the archives about it showing all the maps with images. I'll try and locate it. For now, I did a quickie (no transmapped hair--but eyelash transmap which works the same). For one thing--on the eyes--you have to select 'eye 1' and make it transparent AND mark 'blend transparency' because this is the transparent 'over eyeball'. The same with the eyelashes--I believe they are 'head 1' and you map them with the eyelash transmap (you can see what it looks like and how you must map it in the image of the pic library), make it transparent and click on 'blend transparency'. For this one, the body came in strangely mapped with the wrong fractal, so I just selected ALL the body parts and mapped the fractal to it. The head came in mapped correctly but, of course, anything with a transmap or transparency must be done manually. I think what your problem is is that you are not putting the right maps in the right places in the material lab. Put the tex maps in the first column and select that from the pic library. Then put the transmap in the second column, make sure its mapped like in this image for the eyelashes, put a marble in the transparency and make sure to click on 'blend transparency'. That way both maps are accounted for. I will find my Kozaburo Kyoto post to show you. You can see in the closeup that the eyelashes are transmapped--not solid 'blobs'--and that you can see the eyes--the 'over eyeball' is now transparent. Diane B

Okay, look at http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=67896 first you will see Kozaburo's transmapped hair and 2 images where I mixed up various textures on the same model. Look at http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=68021 to see how the transmaps and textures are in the pic library. You have to copy/delete the tranmaps in Bryce for them to be correct--the opposite of Poser. Hope this helps--I also hope it is clear enough. Transmaps/textures are really tricky and frustrating. BTW, looking at these old P4Models and then looking at the Victoria model, there is a world of difference I think. Diane B

Oh, and if anyone is curious, I used most of the morphing of the African American woman and my own map derived from Anton Kiesel's P4 Shauna and then worked on a lot in PSP. The fractals are quickies from KPT5 using the same gradients. Sometimes I actually apply the fractals to the texture maps--here I just mapped a fractal to the body parts. Also just used the Poser Afro hair. Normally I would do a bit of post work to the hair or use a Cosmo Afro hair and post it, but this is strictly a demo G.

Tricky and frustrating is putting it mildly :-) I manage to get it right one time and then the next I screw it up. I sure do appreciate the help I get from you and others though. It does make it somewhat easier. Your Victoria (above) looks great! Claire
