Hi everyone! I am working on "action" frames, and I need to do fire, explosions and shots. Can I make them with poser, or I must to do with another software in "post production"? Thanks in advance Cheers Leazo

They'll probably have to be done in post-production. Poser doesn't have a particle system or other advanced rendering abilities. You can fake stuff like fire and explosions, using props and transparencies, but it doesn't usually look very convincing.

There were some pretty cool particle props over at PropsGuild. I don't have the actual url but they are in the effects section. Steve over at poserworld made and exploding prop in Cinema and it works in poser. Don't know about muzzle flare... maybe do a search in Freestuff for Volumetric Light Prop. There was one that was pretty cool and you maybe able to taper the end to simulate that. There is a great tutorial on lighting by azl that might also be of use to you. These are just some improv ideas that might be of help.

There's some campfire and other fire props and figures about ... parts of which can be used for muzzle flashes. Bryce clouds can be imported and used for some smoke effects.

at 3Dcommune there's a jet exhaust prop that when scaled down and lighted right looks pretty good for a gun flash.you have to scale it real skinny and real long.

If you are looking for a tool for producing such effects like muzzle flash, bullet casings and electric beams I recommend AlamDV, a cheap powerfull programm for Mac and PC. Its easy to use and it only costs about 72 dollar. I bought it half a year ago after I read about it in this forum and Im still impressed.

This is what I've tried when there's no way I can work around the muzzleflash... (ugh, I'm fearing the day I gotta figure that out) Here's a couple links I can lay on the table, http://www.matthawkins.co.uk/special_fx/sfx_muzzleflash.htm and http://www.hockeyhaircut.com/Tutorial/MuzzleFlash1.htm

I hope they help. Cylent
